Stamp Duty Waived For First Home Owners
The NSW government has eradicated stamp duty for first homebuyers. For first homebuyers any home costing up to $500,000 will be free of stamp duty. First homebuyers can benefit up to $25,000 when the stamp duty is combined with the $7000 first homebuyers grant. All contracts signed as of midnight on April 3rd will be eligible for the stamp duty relief. (SMH 07/04/04)
