Shieldcoat protective coatings wins Telstra
Award
Queensland based protective coatings
manufacturer Shieldcoat has been awarded the State
Winner of their category at the recent Telstra Business
Awards in July. From its inception in 1997 the company
has grown to develop a range of products that covers
organic anti-fouling coatings through to heat reflectant
acrylic renders.
Managing director and founder of
Shieldcoat, Mark Slater said he felt the win was
recognition of the company's service policy. He
said "Shieldcoat has been successful because we
focus first on the quality and innovation of our
product rather than just the bottom line." In recognition
of this, the company was a finalist in the Queensland
Government's GreenSmart Awards in 2003 for the environmentally
friendly nature of their key product lines.
Shieldcoat was previously a State
finalist of the Telstra Awards, an annual event
which attracts hundreds of business entries. These
are whittled down to 24 companies comprised of four
categories with six finalists in each. The company
was competing in the Panasonic division of the awards
for 20-50 employees.
The company will launch their new
range of acrylic renders later this year and will
contest the national final of the competition in
Adelaide in August.
