Colan Australia manufactures an extensive range of composite reinforcement textiles.
This wide and specialised range is used in the construction of engineered laminates for all types of
transport vehicles - air, sea and land. Projects range from mine sweepers, multi purpose naval vessels
through to sailboards, surfboards, powerboats and yachts. They feature in civil, defence and pleasure
aircraft, and motor transport.
Further applications include components for the automotive and electronic industries, dry freight and
refrigerated semi-trailers and shipping containers, wind turbines, building façade and structural panels
for high-rise construction, and pipes and storage tanks for both agricultural and general industrial use.
Colan has the capability to produce custom designed reinforcing fabrics from E Glass, S Glass, Carbon Fibre
and Para Aramid yarns. Colan Australia manufactures these under approvals from ISO9001: 2000 and as well
manufactures to a range of domestic and international standards, including AS/NZS/ISO9001: 2000, BS, ASTM
and US MILSPEC. Colan has Lloyds Register of Shipping approvals for major woven roving styles. As well,
Colan Australia's range of multi axial fabrics has approval from Det Norske Veritas (DNV).
