What is a ICF Building System from ZEGO

insulated concrete blocks formwork

ZEGO Building Systems is an Insulated Concrete Formwork. What this means is that a sacrificial (or stay in place) foam formwork is used for casting reinforced concrete for the walls of your dwelling.

The foam stays in place and insulates the concrete. It also becomes the external surface for applying render, plasterboard, tiling etc.

The technology of the ZEGO ICF Building System originated in Germany over 50 years ago, however, ZEGO ICF's are manufactured in Australia and ZEGO is a fully Australian owned company.

What are the benefits of a ZEGO ICF dwelling?

As an owner of a ZEGO dwelling, you can be confident that you have the most superior and latest building technology currently available in the Australian market.

ZEGO is an environmentally friendly building system that is structurally 9-12 times stronger than conventional building methods due to its reinforced concrete core. Therefore lasting a lifetime.

ZEGO offers 40% more insulation than conventional systems and will provide you with ongoing savings in reduced heating and cooling costs.

ZEGO is manufactured using only 100% flame retardant "F" Grade EPS.

ZEGO has outstanding reduction in sound transmission due to the density of the solid concrete core. In addition, the vibration reduction qualities that are absorbed in the EPS foam dramatically reduce the harmonics over a wide range of frequencies.

ZEGO walls are cyclone rated to Category 4 or 70m per sec (252kmh)

ZEGO services (electrical and plumbing) are chased through the foam with no structural damage to the walls.

ZEGO homes will have greater re-sale value and marketability as they consistently achieve energy ratings of 8.5 to 9 stars and with additional passive solar design, this can be even greater!
