| The Fly Forbo prize was kicked off last year, and exceptional standards in submissions resulted in two winners being announced. Consummate use of Marmoleum as a modern and eco-sustainable flooring option in the ISPT corporate interior Melbourne won for John Wardle Architects (Melbourne). In a cool monotone, the matte finish and minimal light reflectance of Marmoleum added to the sleek, contemporary appeal of the project. The Badajoz Aged Care Facility in North Ryde, NSW, was chosen for its exemplary use of STEP, Smaragd and Onyx by McFadyen Architects of Balmain, NSW. Matching the facility's varied practical requirements, this portfolio of Forbo products was incorporated to achieve a cost-effective non-institutionalised look. "The winners of last year's competition travelled to Europe to see first hand the environment in which Forbo flooring products are designed, prototyped and realized. They met the people who do this and witnessed innovative applications.
