DTAC Pty Ltd helps to give the NAB Headquarters a tick of compliance


A gross floor area of 80,000sqm in the first stage of the development of the National Australia Bank at Melbourne Docklands is a facility that was designed to accommodate its 3500 employees in the most amenable way possible. The building boasts mixed mode ventilation, workplace day-lighting and low energy consumption. The Architects, Bligh Voller Nield, conducted extensive international research to ensure that the project reflected state of the art sustainable architectural features. The NAB project is a prime example of world's best practice in the design and creation of workplace communities.

Due to strict requirements that now surround the use of Tactile Ground surface indicators, DTAC was awarded the contract for the supply and installation of their TGSI products for Architects to meet the minimum design requirements and legal criteria's of anti discrimination, The BCA and work place safety requirements of NAB.

DTAC worked in close conjunction with Bovis Lend Lease to ensure that installation was completed to the specifications of Bligh Voller Nield. The DTAC MAX Soil 316 Marine Grade Stainless Steel Discrete TGSI was selected for this project to give the highest levels of slip resistance and for its compliance with AS/NZS 1428.4 (2002).

The DTAC TGSIs where manufactured in Australia and Installed by DTAC certified installers into all the stair and ramp areas throughout the development, internally and externally, and guaranteeing their workmanship. An overall community with a friendly environment in which to work with the best of the best on display. Safety just got sexy and community friendly.
