Sanoplant granulated soil nutrient from Sanoway Australia
Sanoplant is a granulated soil amendment, which stores water and nutrients
and promotes healthy plant growth. Using Sanoplant, about 50% of irrigation water can be saved
and in addition, the application of Sanoplant renders any fertiliser use more effective.
Sanoplant was originally developed to prevent leaching of chemical fertilisers, used on golf
course greens, into the water table. Making use of its unique properties it has since been further
developed for broader "growing" application, particularly for use in arid regions.
It is a blend of silicate based natural stone powders that undergoes a special physical treatment.
High resistible carbon compounds and special cellulose are added to the silica product, whereafter
the powders are compacted and granulated for easy calibration, handling and application. Sanoplant
is NOT a polymer, or water crystal!
- Sanoplant significantly improves the storage of water and nutrients in soils which have high air pore-volume and poor water holding capacity.
- Sanoplant can store approximately 16 times its own weight of water.
- Importantly, this water is plant available as it is held under moderate tension.
- Sanoplant can be used in almost all soil types, but is most effective in sandy soils.
How does Sanoplant work?
The Sanoplant is mixed into the soil / potting mix in, or just below, the root zone. The granulate
separates into tiny particles which rapidly "adsorbs" water and any nutrients therein; the water
(and nutrients) are held under moderate tension by the Sanoplant, so that they are available to
the plants, as and when required.
Stored water and nutrients are available to the plants over a long time period resulting in better
growth and healthier plants.
Sanoplant increases the plant available water, storing water which would otherwise be lost to
drainage. Nutrients in the water are held and are also available to the plants. There are other
products which may appear similar to Sanoplant. Some of these will store very large amounts of water,
but this may in fact not be desireable. With Sanoplant the water is adsorbed and held under moderate
tension so as to be "plant available." The capacity of Sanoplant to rapidly adsorb irrigation or rainfall
water is most important; some other products take hours to saturate and cannot absorb the water fast
enough, so little is actually saved. Most of the "polymer" products now claim to be biodegradable,
which means that over time they will breakdown and lose their water holding efficacy... lifespan could
be anything from 1 to 5 years. Sanoplant is inert, and will remain effective for many, many years!
Take the time to compare carefully and you will see why Sanoplant is different, and why it works!
