and enables end-user clients to fully appreciate
the aesthetics and functional benefits of the concept.
The I-design service enables modular
carpet to be inserted into graphic representations
of installations or photographic images. As a result,
Interface Creative Services can assist with both
the flooring design process and effectively presenting
i2 products to clients.

"As the pioneers in
non-directional carpet modules, Interface
understood new tools were needed to
assist clients visualise the large scale
of the random design and consequently,
understand the benefits," said Lana
Whittington of the Creative Services
Department at Interface.
The i2 products
feature a diversity of modules, which
are randomly laid. As a result,
i2 creates a varied floorplate due to
the interplay of colours within each
pattern. This not only provides
a unique floorplate everytime but also
provides significant facility management
benefits.

"Due to the large scale variations
in the i2 products, replacement modules blend with
the existing flooring, otherwise known as mergeable
dye lots," said Ms Whittington. "This major
facility management improvement, combined with hard-wearing
Antron Lumena® fibre technology, ensures the
flooring looks good for much longer even in the
most punishing environments like education or retail."

The mergeable dye lots also negate
the need to carry attic stock. "i2 provides significant
advantages in dealing with churn in office environments,"
said Ms Whittington. "I2 products can be quickly
and easily reconfigured as office layout requirements
change without worrying about product direction
and being able to order extra product at any time
and have it merge effectively." Ensuring a
longer lifecycle and backed by a 15-year warranty,
i2 provides significant return on investment advantages.
As a result of the random lay concept,
Interface i2 is also quicker and easier to install.
I2 also significantly reduces product installation
waste, creating approximately 1.5% waste compared
with 3-4% on standard modular carpet, and 13 - 20%
waste on traditional roll carpet.

are a variety of products to suit virtually any
commercial environment, from subtle, nature-inspired
designs through to bolder geometric-based patterns
that make striking statements. The I-Design service
