LIDCO HISTORY
The history of LIDCO's involvement
in the supply of products to the Architectural building
industry dates back 59 years.
In 1946 the business name LIDCO
(Louvre Installation and Distribution Company) was
registered to develop the business of manufacturing
and distribution Cooper Louvre Windows.
12 years later the company dedicated
all of its resources to glass, Aluminium and window
products. LIDCO became synonymous with the development
of the rattle-proof sliding window and was soon
recognised as the leader in quality window and door
systems.
From the mid 80's and early 90's
right up to now, LIDCO has expanded its product
range to include high-performance window and door
systems and unitised curtain wall systems for multi-storey
buildings.
This expansion was the springboard
for continuing LIDCO's position as a market leader
in our industry and brought about LIDCO's rebirth
back into the export arena in Asia Pacific countries.
The year 2005 brings with it a change
of ownership for the company. Marco Belgiorno-Zegna
AM, former managing director and shareholder of
the Transfield Group acquired the intellectual property
and Aluminium Distribution Business of LIDCO.
This change is set to ignite a new
era of development and direction for LIDCO, building
on past strengths and creating an exciting future
for the company.
