Designbuild to stage Green Building seminars

Designbuild, in conjunction with the Green Building Council, the Australian Architecture Association and BCI Australia will have leading-edge Australian
and international practitioners of environmentally sustainable architecture, design, building and construction, presenting at the 2007 Designbuild Green Building Seminar
program, according to Exhibition Director Bill Hare.
The Seminars will be held in a dedicated theatre on the show floor and the speakers and topics include:
Sunday 3rd June
Mark Lister, Energy Conservation Systems - 'Six-star building performance - the 40 Albert Road experience'; Tone Wheeler, Environa Studio - 'Climate change means a change
in climate design' and John Macdonald, DesignInc - 'Innovations in green building design'.
Monday 4th June
Dr Matthias Krups, BCI Group - 'An update of the Australian green building market study'; Brett Abraham, JAS-ANZ & Gary Luck, Australian Building Codes Board -
'CodeMark - the new building product certification scheme' and Michelle Malanca, The Green Building Council of Australia - 'Green Star - the next generation'.
World Environment Day 5th June
Dr David Baggs, Eco-Specifier - 'Sustainable materials-current drivers and issues'; Prof. Deo Prasad, Uni of NSW - 'Designing buildings for better use of water, waste
and energy'; Gerard Reinmuth, Terroir - 'Sustainability and desire' and Caroline Pidcock, Pidcock Architects - 'Designing for a positive future'.

The Green building seminar program will be complimented by a new 'Green Building Zone' with exhibitors showcasing the latest in green building products.
Dematec Constructions is exhibiting the new GRP panel type water tanks designed to prevent water making contact with steel thus preserving the integrity of the water and
ensuring that the tanks do not rust or leak.
Smart Roof Australia will be showing Smartbreeze, their patented green solution to heating and cooling. Using solar energy Smartbreeze assists with purging the heat from
metal roof ribs or tiles in summer and redirecting the heat into living areas in winter.
Tankmasta will display the multi award winning Tankmasta range of underground water tanks and their new Tankmasta 3000 litre slimline tank.
