Opalz™ from Decorative Imaging used for environmentally friendly workstations

The City of Melbourne Council House 2 (CH2) project has been an ambitious achievement, aimed at creating a building that has as little impact as possible on the wider environment, as well as creating a better internal environment for its users.

The building's designers took their environmental considerations down to the smallest detail, including the materials used for the 650 workstations that were supplied by Formway Furniture.

The workstations needed to be practical, durable and stylish to create a pleasant and healthy workspace. And, most importantly, they needed to conform to the environmental considerations of the project. The Opalz™ MDF powder coating was chosen by Formway because Opalz™ met all of their environmental, aesthetic and quality requirements.

Opalz™ MDF powder coating is a beautiful and durable coating that fully encapsulates the board, an important consideration for this project as formaldehyde emission minimisation was a key criterion.

Decorative Imaging has utilised the latest technology from Interpon, who have years of experience in developing specialist powder coatings, as well as a special high performance MDF board from Carter Holt Harvey, to supply the beautiful, durable and environmentally friendly Opalz™ finishes.
