Controlled Raw materials
Keeping bamboo material fresh is more complicated that it is for hardwoods. Fresh raw bamboo material has to be cut and dried quickly to avoid mould within 3 days of being harvested. Timely treatment stops bacteria from changing the colour. Mosowood's factory only processes mature stalks using quality testing methods refined after many years of research.
Human Health Information
Things such as indoor air quality (IEQ) for workers and the end user, volatile organic compounds content and emissions, mould/particle, dust control and ventilation properties all are safety aspects through the products whole life cycle including comfort.
Adhesives & Finishes
The bamboo flooring manufacturer should be able to provide evidence of the highest quality products with the lowest formaldehyde emission, our products are well below the allowable E1 standard fro indoor air quality (IEQ). Poor quality factories use low grade adhesives and coatings with very high formaldehyde content which off gasses indoors. Our factory uses the highest quality Klumpp UV-Coatings which have no VOC emissions, no formaldehyde, no heavy metals, no insecticides, pesticides and herbicides, no plasticizers.
Precision Milling
Consistent quality and colour are essential, our factory processes both square edge and micro-bevel edge flooring to exacting quality standards using state-of-the-art machinery with precise milling tolerances of +/-0.1mm wide and thick,
and +/-1.00mm long.
Our factory also manufacturers under the Uniclic license EU Patent 0843 763 B1, and US Patent nr 6,006,486 a vast range of 14 "Colours of Australia" glue-less flooring systems.
