The traditional wax resist dye methods, used for centuries around the world, are also the inspiration for Tandus' Wax Resist Collection, flooring available in modular carpet and Powerbond®. The Wax Resist Collection possesses the same handmade style for which it is known - soft organic patterns.
The term resist dying refers to the various traditional dye methods used in textiles. These include tying, waxing, and stitching in order to create a pattern, through the resistance or prevention of dye reaching all of the fabric using any one of the above methods. The resulting design unveils a soft and natural pattern. This soothing pattern is ideal for use within an environment that promotes healing and relaxation and the patterns are not harsh or too busy for the eye.
Tandus' Wax Resist Collection is produced using space dyed yarns, which mimic the resist thread, which is then stitched throughout a solution dyed cloth. The result "imparts harmony and grace of the traditional artisans".
Highly suited to a range of applications, particularly Aged Care, Healthcare and Public buildings the Wax Resist Collection is available in 19 earth-based shades.
