Using texture coatings for structural protection is an effective way to maintain the integrity of a wall. Texture coatings offer a layer of protection from various factors like UV rays, wind, water, and temperature changes. Texture coatings offer resistance against sagging, peeling, flaking and inhibit growth of fungi and algae.
JPS Coatings' textures come in two kinds: trowel-on and roll-on. While they differ in modes of application, the quality of both products is the same.
JPS Coatings Trowel-On and JPS Coatings Roll-On textures are both high build acrylic based coatings that are formulated on 100% acrylic emulsions, finely graded aggregates, mineral fillers, and colour stable pigments. Both are supplied in a semi-liquid paste consistency, and both offer superior surface protection in a single application.
Although JPS Coatings Textures have been formulated to have long "Wet Edge" for both trowelling and rolling consistency, quick and continuous application should still be practised. These premium quality textures are applicable to masonry substrates like Glass Reinforced Concrete, Off-Form Concrete, F.C Sheeting, Cement Render, and Plasterboard.
How are JPS Coatings Trowel-On and JPS Coatings Roll-On textures Different?
The difference in these two products is not only in the application method, but also the coverage and curing times.
One pail of JPS Coatings Trowel-On Texture can be applied to approximately 12-14 m² due to a spread rate of 0.9 m² per litre. One pail of JPS Coatings Roll-On Texture can accommodate approximately 22-25 m², with a spread rate of 1.6 m² per litre (assuming there is no loss of product).
JPS Coatings Trowel-On Texture is surface dry in 4 hours at 25°C and 50% relative humidity. Drying, however, will take longer at higher relative humidity or lower temperatures. It takes up to seven days to hard dry. On the other hand, JPS Coatings Roll-On Texture is touch dry in just 1 hour at the same temperature and relative humidity as JPS Coatings Trowel-On Texture. At the same time, it can also take seven days for it to hard dry if temperatures are lower or humidity is higher.
Quality is something that JPS Coatings takes seriously. Strenuous research and development are undertaken before their products reach the market. JPS Texture Coatings are made from a formulation of premium materials and offer superior structural protection.
