Peace & Quiet Insulation has added the MAGNETITE secondary window system to their range of Australian Acoustic Insulation systems.

Magnetite is a state-of-the-art acrylic based glazing system that converts existing windows to double-glazed windows. The National Acoustics Laboratory test ATF748 shows Magnetite system increased a 3mm glass pane with STC 23 to Magnetite 4.5mm secondary acrylic system to STC36.

More recent tests on a 3mm sliding glass window showed that, by adding the Magnetite secondary window system noise abatement INCREASED by;-

4.5mm Magnetite STC13 increase 12Rw increase;
6.0mm Magnetite STC14 increase 14Rw increase;
8.0mm Magnetite STC15 increase 15Rw increase.
