Top-selling Metal Protector Goes
Multi-coloured
Top-selling metal protector and
decorator, Rust Guard, is now available in hundreds
of new colours across the colour spectrum.

Long recognised for
its ability to both stop rust and prime
and top coat any type of metal in just
one coat, Rust Guard has retained its
15 pre-mixed colours while adding hundreds
of shades that can be tinted in store
(these include exact matches for many
of the Colorbond ? colours).
The
finish, by White Knight Paints, has
long been the benchmark in the protection
and decoration of everything from garden
furniture and tools to fences, railings,
roofs, gutters, sculpture, bicycles,
letter boxes, and machinery.
Application
could not be easier - simply paint or
spray on a single coat to a clean, dry
surface, making sure any flaking rust
has been removed with a wire brush. There
is no need for any rust converter, primer
or undercoat.

And the result? A tough, high
gloss finish that combines epoxy modified resins
and anti-corrosion additives to provide excellent
durability and adhesion.
The paint is available in a brush
on form (which is touch dry in two to four hours)
and an aerosol can (which is touch dry in just an
hour). The latter is ideal for protecting
those small, intricate areas such as wrought iron
and lattice work.
Rust Guard's coverage is excellent,
with one litre of brush-on Rust Guard covering 10
- 14 square metres (depending on surface porosity
and film thickness) and 1 to 1.5 metres per 310gm
spray can.
The metal pots in the attached picture
were painted with Rust Guard's Machinery Grey and
Sky Grey, while the corrugated iron background was
painted in Miranda which was tinted in store. The
concrete floor was painted in White Knight Paint's
acrylic based Ultra Pave concrete paver paint in
Mystic Storm.
Rust Guard, by White Knight Paints,
is available nationally from hardware stores and
paint specialists in 250ml, 500ml, 1 litre and 4
litre cans from about $24 per litre and $82 per
four litres and $11 per 310gm spray can. The
250ml cans retail from $12.50 and 500ml cans from
$16.00. Ultra Pave concrete paver paint retails
from $55 for four litres.
