Living Water Flowforms contracted for the Island Quarry - Byron Bay

The Island Quarry Arts & Eco Centre in Byron Bay's is an innovative community project that aims to create a model for sustainable living through
environmental, economic and social activity.
Many years ago the quarry was abandoned due to the ingress of water from an underground spring. The result is a beautiful dam that's surrounded by cliffs on three sides.
Living Water Flowforms is proud to have contributed to this exciting community project by installing seven steps of Turunas which serve to enliven the water of the dam.
Recycled brickwork construction, after slab pour of .35 Mtr. Site access was easy and the Flowforms were lifted in by four labourers per bowl in under an hour.
8mm Cement sheet steps were cut to follow the curves of the wall and glued in place with Sikaflex.
As there was no electricity on the site we created the flow by using a petrol driven fire fighting pump drawing the water from the other side of the dam, thereby
maximising the oxygenation effects of the Flowforms.
Rendering completed with pump in action prior to planting of shrubs and flowers.
