Create UV safe environments from Solarspace

With the help of the Multicell Danpalon glazing system from Solarspace, the Cowra Aquatic Centre has demonstrated it is an ideal glazing solution that
offers a comfortable natural lighting solution and a UV safe environment.
The Danpalon system was also selected for its lightweight, durability and corrosive resistant properties said Karen Gay of Design West. Design West was appointed
architects for the Design of the Cowra Swimming Pool facilities redevelopment by Cowra Shire Council and the centre was opened in late September 2003. The brief for
the new building called for a structure that would not become dated and last for at least 50 years. The modern curved structure of the main roof has an uninterrupted
26 metre.
Translucent aqua coloured Danpalon 16mm panels coupled with white structural steel provide a light and airy space within the main pool enclosure, and the flexibility
of the Danpalon system is perfectly suited to the creation of the uninterrupted dome roof. Danpalons patented connection system means impact compliance with AS1562.3,
thus eliminating the requirement for safety mesh under roofs over 3.0m above ground and offering a safe problem free solution. Danpalon Multicell also offers improved
rigidity, allowing for improved spanning capabilities and its strength is supported by a 10 year hail damage and discoloration guarantee.
Nowhere is skin more exposed by the dangerous effects of ultra-violet radiation than in a pool and nothing provides a stronger sunscreen than Danpalon. Danpalon is
manufactured with a co-extruded UV Barrier that blocks more than 99.9% of the harmful rays as tested by the Skin Cancer Research Foundation.
