Desert Cube waterless urinal technology by Desert Eco Systems

Desert Eco Systems is the first waterless urinal company in the
world to offset its carbon emissions.
Did you know that of all the water on earth, only 3% is fresh? And less than
one third of 1% of that is available to humans? Or that Australians are the
greatest consumers of water per capita in the world?
Neither did we, but once we did, coupled with this country's increasing water
shortage, we knew we had to take action. The result is the Desert Cube™, a
simple, effective water saving technology which saves on average 151,000 litres
of water a year per urinal. Each cube contains natural beneficial microbes to
keep urinals clean and hygienic without the use of flushing water. With one small
change to the Desert Cube™ you truly can make a big difference and reduce water
use in your urinals by up to 98%! Now there's a figure worth aiming for.
How Desert Cubes Work
Desert Cubes use microbial technology to turn your existing trough or bowl
facilities into a touch-free waterless urinal. Desert Cubes are simply placed in
the base of the urinal and the water supply is turned off. A small amount of
water is poured into the urinal each day to activate the cubes. Beneficial
microbes are released as the cubes slowly dissolve over several weeks.
Not only do the microbes trigger a natural breakdown of organic matter inside
the drain, they also interfere with the bacterial digestion that produces
unpleasant odours.
