Global Safe Technologies non-slip strips solve slippery surface liabilities
Global Safe Technologies has successfully completed a variety of
anti slip treatments on various surfaces and stairs for the Chinese Restaurant
award winning Red Lantern Vietnamese restaurant in Surrey Hills, Sydney.
Restaurant management was very concerned about public safety at the restaurant
entrance and employee safety at the restaurant kitchen and serving areas. They
called on Global Safe Technologies to assess the situation and report back to
them. After reviewing the complimentary Floor Safety Inspection report, management
decided to go ahead with all the recommendations.
The Safe Solution micro etching anti slip treatment was used on the external tiled
entrance surface. Black and yellow Safe Grip stair nosing now provide a long lasting
anti slip surface both on the wooden and tiled stairs and highlights the edge of the
artificial external floor. As this entrance area is shared between the occupants of
the unit and restaurant staff and patrons, the restaurant has also provided additional
public safety for the occupants of the building.
In the kitchen 50 mm wide and 100 mm wide Safe Grip non slip strips were employed,
depending on the likely contamination of the surface and contaminant type. As the
chef's cooking area is considered to be the highest risk situation, the 50 mm strips
were used. This combination of various strips provided the restaurant with a fully
OH&S compliant and safe floor surface and gave them the most cost effective solution.
The Global Safe team worked overnight as well as during the day to ensure that all
work was completed without causing any problems for the occupants of the building or
downtime for the restaurant. These goals have been accomplished and management
complimented the team on the professionalism and dedication, to get the job done.
Staff also commented how good is the revitalised floor.
