The Edwardian & Federation range of tessellated tiles from Designer Ceramics

Adorned with fretwork and tesselated tiles, verandahs were an important feature of a Federation home. Kitchens and Bathrooms of this period were generally simple but practical.

Tessellated tiles in various patterns were often used for bathroom floors. Wall tiles were generally 6 inches in length (152mm). The trade accepted length is now 8 inch or 198 mm, however the discerning buyer wishing to renovate as close as possible to original will choose 6 inch sizing. Decoration of wall tiles was often in the form of transfer tiles or embossed tiles and often finished off with bullnose cappings. Accessories such as towel rails, taps and exposed pipes were generally nickel plated however polished brass is used largely today.

We specialise in the design and manufacture of embossed tiles and cappings both in the traditional 6 inch sizing or the contemporary 8 inch sizes. We have a large range of designs to choose from and over 24 colours and finishes to select from.
