Fantech Eco-Speed - the new axial fan with integrated VSD
The new Fantech Eco-Speed Series of axial duct mounted fans incorporate a
unique AC motor with an integrated variable speed drive (VSD).
The integrated VSD provides variable frequency speed control with 240V AC supply input and
415V motor efficiency. This alleviates the need for the traditional style VSD's resulting
in a quicker, more cost effective installation.
The Fantech Eco-Speed Series is available in sizes ranging from Ø400 to Ø710mm in diameter
and with Manual or Feedback Control options.
Energy saving opportunities with the Eco-Speed Series
Manual Control Unit - Fan speed can be set to achieve the required airflow/pressure, thereby
reducing wasted energy on excess fan capacity.
Feedback Control Unit - Remote sensors can be connected directly to the fan to control its
speed, on demand airflow using only the energy needed.
Applications
With in-built speed control the Fantech Eco-Speed Series is suited to air conditioning and
ventilation applications where precise fine-tuning of the airflow is required and/or energy
efficiency is a consideration. Used instead of volume control dampers to throttle the fan, a
more energy efficient system can be achieved.
Ideal for emergency breakdowns
In addition to its energy saving potential, Fantech Eco-Speed Series fans are ideal for
emergency breakdown work. In many cases, the Manual Control units can be supplied
off-the-shelf in the diameter that is required and adjusted on-site to give the right
amount of airflow/pressure. Speed adjustment is achieved via a simple knob on a control box
which is attached to the fan case with 1.5m of flexible cable. If required, the cable can be
extended so that the control box can be mounted in a convenient position for on going
speed adjustment.
