Floating shade sails for car parks from Mulders

Every car needs a home of its own. An architecturally designed shade sail
can be an elegant alternative to the traditional garage or carport. Mulder's, a long
established Victorian manufacturer of shade sails, has developed a new innovative free
standing shade sail structure for car parking spaces.
This new design called Eclipse, has the traditional streamlined look of a shade sail but is
specifically designed for carports and parking spaces. These shade structures can be very
effective when trying to reduce the sun's harsh effect on car paintwork and interiors.
These tension membranes are becoming increasingly regarded as a modern extension to
apartments with multiple car spaces or homes needing a carport.
The shade sail's key design is the use of two fixing posts instead of four. This halving in
number means less risk of the car hitting supporting poles, plus it provides maximum use of the shade area.
A central cross-piece supporting structure is fixed on just two opposite corners of the
sail. The sail 'floats' over nearby walls and corners making it easy to position.
The stand alone design means the carport can be located near the house or down the end of a driveway.
There is also no need to use a weight bearing fixing on a roof or external wall, placing no
stress on existing structures. The shade is straightforward to dismantle and re-install for
easy re-location when moving house.
Eclipse is a lightweight stylish sail structure that gives a high level of shade where it
is needed. A variety of designs are available using rectangular or square configurations.
The space efficient two pole design means that the larger version can be used as a double
carport. Also, the overall structure is made from hot dipped galvanised steel, which is
very resistant to rain, salt corrosion and rust. Eclipse is also engineer certified.
The sails themselves can be made in a choice of high quality shade cloths, architectural
grade polyester mesh and solid PVCs. These materials withstand wind, sun and rain. UV-ray
resistant materials provide superb protection from the damaging rays of the sun.
Mulder's onsite factory supports a rapid quote and supply process, recognising the urgency of
most building and DIY projects. The company has made shade and shelter products since the
1930s and is recognised in the industry for it's expertise in shade sail design and fabrication.
