Engineering Timber Flooring from Lagler AustraliaThe installation of genuine timber flooring can evolve into a nightmare for installers, architects and, of course, the homeowner, if all of the possible pitfalls are not properly understood. Issues such as moisture in the concrete slab, moisture in the timber itself, and the natural saps and oils in the timber can lead to a litany of headaches from adhesion issues, to excessive expansion, contraction and the subsequent cupping. It doesn't have to be that way, and nor should it be. Timber is the most beautiful flooring you will ever have underfoot. Engineered flooring is emerging as the most sensible option to having genuine timber underfoot, but with more stability and measurably less potential for headaches. Above the tongue and groove is genuine timber requiring minimal sanding to be ready for your chosen, in-situ coating*. Lagler Australia stock the OXFORD range of American Oak, Blackbutt, Spotted Gum and Sydney Blue Gum, representing an elite range of the most sought-after timbers in Australia. They come in sizes from 15mm x 127mm with 4mm of solid timber wear layer, to 21mm x a very wide 189mm* with 6mm of genuine solid timber. The base has several layers of cross sectioned hardwood birch. This engineering is what dispenses with the majority of instability problems caused by moisture or immaturity of the board.
These engineered timbers have been milled to perfection and require minimal sanding to prepare them for the coating of your choice. The prices start around a very reasonable $65 per square metre. View them at either of Lagler's two Melbourne Branches at Knoxfield or Tullamarine. *sizes subject to availability.
