Bayside City Council Unveils Security Overhaul
With API Locksmiths' SALTO system

Bayside City Council has unveiled its security overhaul with a newly installed and revolutionary wireless access control system, called SALTO.

The facilities now feature a stand-alone system that offers a flexible, secure and convenient alternative to out-dated key control systems.

With multiple buildings shared across a number of organisations, Bayside City Council faced increasing issues with tracking who had what keys. Key control presented a serious challenge due to the large volume of people requiring entry at different times of the day and year.

Prior to API locksmiths' installation, access to the sporting pavilions involved constant and costly rekeying when one season finished and another began. SALTO enabled each club to be issued a set of tags, which only work during the program times for their respective seasons.

The council's SALTO tags are also programmed to expire so if a card is lost but not reported it will no longer work if it has not been updated at a hot spot by a certain time. If a card is reported lost, it is simply blacklisted to all the locks in the system.
