NEWS ARTICLE ARCHIVESCarpet for aged care from Interface Flooring
Interface offer carpet in two forms: modular, which provides the benefits of tiles being able to be replaced or rotated and System Six performance carpet. Both products feature impermeable backings, preventing moisture from reaching the sub floor. With Interfaces System Six there is no need to seal the sub floor as each join is chemically bonded to create a completely impermeable layer from edge to edge in any room. The fibreglass layer within both products creates a highly dimensionally stable product that offers low wheel resistance. Key issues within the aged care environment also include infection control, maintenance, durability and longevity of the products. Interface products feature Intersept, an anti-microbial agent permanently embedded within the carpet structure. As Intersept is non-soluble, it is not removed by cleaning processes and lasts for the life of the carpet. The solution dyed 6,6 nylon fibres ensure that product will not lose colour vibrancy with extreme wear, food, bodily fluid or pharmaceutical spills or cleaning agents. Combined with fluorocarbon treatments that repel stains and soil, and the dense loop construction that provides easy release of soil and contaminants, Interface is a hardwearing alternative to hard floor surfaces. |
