EPG Help Extinguish Flames in Remote Locations
Engineered Products Group (EPG) have recently
modified an existing Fire Fighting Pump in order
to provide people with the capability to extinguish
fires in remote locations. This new product is ideal
for isolated areas, including areas within marinas,
farms and other large properties. Additionally,
one person can easily handle the pump.
| Rodger Buskens of Como Marina approached EPG
in March 2005 requesting a fire fighting product
that would enable them to extinguish fires in remote
locations, for example at the end of a wharf. Portability
of the unit in the event of an emergency was an
essential requirement of the product, as was the
capability for it to be handled by one person. Hence
the request of a Fire Fighting Pump on wheels. After
a significant amount of research it was discovered
that this type of product was extremely difficult
to locate in Australia. EPG therefore set about
modifying an existing product to meet the Marina's
needs!

EPG successfully produced a Fire Fighting Pump
mounted on a heavy-duty steel mobile frame with
wheels and a choice of hose kits. The frame and
wheels ensured it was portable and sturdy. The hose
kits are ready to fit straight onto the fire fighter,
while the suction hose can be placed directly into
the nearest water source, ensuring it is easy to
use. The pump is also lightweight - so anyone can
use it.
Rodger Busking, Como Marina Manager has said
that the EPG Fire Fighting Pump has provided him
with peace of mind - he is now confident that both
he and his staff can reach a fire single handedly
and immediately. This new product also provides
the Marina with the capability to access an area
that would normally be out of reach by conventional
fire fighting methods.

- One piece closed alloy impeller
- 3 way discharge for fire fighting
- Honda GX160 (5.5HP) Engine
The Fire Fighting Pump is available with 3 hose
kit options, depending on the customer's individual
needs -
- 6 Metre suction, 20 Metre discharge
- 6 Metre suction, 2 x 10 Metre discharge
- 4 Metre suction, 6 Metre discharge
All hose kits have couplings, nozzles and suction
filters.
As an added bonus the Fire Fighting Pump can
also be used as a bilge pump.
