Using design elements that date from Sydney's colonial past, and traditional materials and workmanship, our colonial shutters are the ideal exterior treatment for any window.
Made from either kalantis (an ideal substitute for Australian Cedar for restoration projects) or western red cedar, each piece of lumber is selected to ensure that the
moisture content is within an acceptable range, and that it is free of any defects that may lead to shrinkage or warping at a later date.
We prefer to finish exterior shutters in enamel, which is the most durable finish, and offers the best protection to the timber. We can also finish exterior shutters
in an oil finish, but this will require more maintenance as time goes by.
We are also happy to supply shutters raw-fine sanded and ready to finish.
