Insulclad® pre-meshed polystyrene cladding from Nuplex Construction Products
insulclad® Pre-Meshed polystyrene cladding is a new development using
simular construction details as the standard insulclad® system. It comprises of termite
treated M grade polystyrene sheeting pre-meshed with a cement based polymer modified
coating, reinforced with fibreglass mesh.
The standard insulclad® System has been successfully used as an alternative cladding
since 1986 and was the first EIFS (exterior insulating finishing system) system of its
kind to be introduced into the Australasian market. The standard insulclad® system is
an all insitu constructed polystyrene cladding installed by approved contractors.
Unlike the standard system there are no restrictions on who can purchase insulclad®
pre-meshed polystyrene cladding The product comes in sheet sizes of 1.2 x 2.5 x 40 or
75mm thick. The board can be fixed by carpenters then completed by a renderer using a
simple and effective jointing and coating system.
insulclad® pre-meshed polystyrene cladding offers an option of a unique form of cavity
construction that is cost effective and quick to install. This form of construction
allows for nominal overall wall thicknesses eg. 40mm insulclad® pre-meshed with 35mm
packers will achieve an overall thickness of 75mm. Due to the rigidity of the board
sheets can be fixed horizontally without support, therefore reducing waste and cutting
down on installation time.
What makes insulclad® better than other polystyrene cladding systems used in Australia?
Polystyrene cladding systems are used all over the world as an alternative to the more
traditional cladding systems. Unlike most other polystyrene cladding systems currently
available to the Australian market; insulclad® is constructed using a thin coat
rendering system that allows for minimal structural movement while retaining a hard and
durable surface. The thicker the coating the more likely there will be some form of
cracking due to the render not being able to move with the polystyrene. This can be a
problem with most pre-meshed and insitu polystyrene cladding systems that use a basic
render as a base and finish coat

been specifically developed for use over polystyrene cladding The best quality additives
are used to produce renders that will give guaranteed adhesion to polystyrene substrates
with textures ranging from a traditional rendered look to the more modern finish.
