Ocean front development of pestige apartments utilised premium
quality fixtures and fittings. The apartments used limestone throughout the
main living area floors. Although the finish of the stone was quite good the
inherent nature of limestone meant that some areas where there was clay deposits
looked duller than the surrounding areas. After trying various means to alleviate
the problem including repolishing the clay areas still appeared dull compared to
the rest of the tile.
Regal Floors was called in to inspect the tiles. After discussions with the builder
and a geoscientist it was decided to utilise a polymeric coating to create a uniform
shine to the tiles. Two coats were applied and burnished between and after. The
result was a floor that had a uniform appearance and overcome the patchiness of
the original finish.
