Waterproofing a basement suffering from water ingress

This private residence was experiencing water ingress through the subgrade walls. Previous owners had extended the terraced home to create a rear storage area but neglected to waterproof adequately. The new owners wished to convert the area to a habitable space and Newton System 500 was the perfect solution.

Project description

Newton System 500 was installed in this building as it eliminated costly removal of existing solid plaster and paint coatings, and provided a simple solution for detailing to existing plumbing penetrations and pipework.

Newton 503 installation required full removal of the existing cabinetry, fixings and wall sheeting, and raising floor levels which created both a rebate for Newton Basedrain and matched floor levels to the main house area for seamless integration. Upon installation of Newton 503 with Newton Multiplugs, new stud walls were built and lined and all cabinetry and fixings were reinstated back to original position.

All work was completed on budget and on time, and in the following months has been subject to flooding rains with no further ingress. The owner is delighted with the results and has peace of mind.
