Fly Forbo Winners Announced - Not One but Two!
Exceptional standards in submissions meant the judging of the Fly Forbo Fly Free to Europe award, run in conjunction with the
Interior Design Awards Australia (IDAA), was difficult, resulting in not one but two prizes being bestowed.
"We were delighted with the interesting and innovative ways that Marmoleum and our other flooring and wall covering products were used across
the variety of projects represented in entries. So much so, in fact that the usual 'there can only be one winner and the winner is...' phrase
became irrelevant - we decided to provide two prizes!" said Angus Fotheringhame, managing director of Forbo Flooring. Consummate use of Marmoleum as a modern and eco-sustainable flooring option in the ISPT corporate interior, Melbourne won for John Wardle Architects (Melbourne). In a cool monotone, the matte finish and minimum light reflectance of Marmoleum added to the sleek, contemporary appeal of the project.
The Badajoz Aged Care Facility in North Ryde, NSW, was chosen for its exemplary use of STEP, Smaragd and Onyx by McFadyen Architects of
Balmain, NSW. Matching the facility's varied practical requirements, this portfolio of Forbo products was incorporated to achieve a
cost-effective non-institutionalized look.
Winners from each design house will visit Forbo's Design Studio in Amsterdam and 100% Design in London.
