Three new health & aged care solutions at Forbo
Usually the selection of a durable, practical and easy to clean surface in healthcare and agedcare facilities is a recipe for
institutional-looking surroundings.
However, a new choice of surfaces from Forbo two hardworking flooring ranges and a complimentary wallcovering provide not only exceptional
performance but the opportunity to create warm, welcoming atmospheres more reminiscent of a home than a facility.
Sarlon Quartz is an extremely wear-resistant commercial grade cushioned vinyl with a uniquely attractive, subtle patterned appearance.
Double wear layers, 25% thicker than standards require, include embedded synthetic quartz chips for enhanced wear resistance and enable this
flooring to withstand the rigours of wheelchairs, castor chair beds, medical equipment and such. A protective PU coating eases maintenance and
a biostatic treatment offers lifelong protection against germs and bacteria, an essential feature for those application areas where accidents
do happen.
Warmth and comfort underfoot is achieved through a dense PVC foam backing that has excellent indentation resistance and offers significant
improvement in sound insulation. In 24 colours, Sarlon Quartz has a soft, appealing look.
The new Aqualon relief flooring range is designed specifically for very high wear resistance, according to class 34 & 43 in commercial wetroom
environments.
Welded at the seams, Aqualon relief provides a completely water tight finish, whilst its relief surface pattern creates an extremely safe
environment underfoot. It has tremendous flexibility that enables a leak-proof tailored fit around drains and sharp angles, and maintenance
is much easier than with most standard safety floors. Aqualon relief is available in nine soothing pastels and earthy tones.
Also especially suited for wetrooms is Onyx, a durable vinyl wallcovering which meets the highest water resistance class in accordance with
industry standards for PVC walls in these areas. Onyx is joined seamlessly with matching weld. This smooth, non-porous finish wont provide
any breeding ground for bacteria and makes cleaning as simple as a wipe down. The eight Onyx colours are designed to compliment Aqualon relief
and Sarlon Quartz tones to provide a complete solution to the health and aged care sectors
Sarlon Quartz, Onyx and Aqualon relief can be effectively combined with other Forbo flooring surfaces such as Smaragd, Eternal wood or the
award-winning, eco-friendly Marmoleum, Artoleum, Furniture Linoleum and Bulletin Board.
All can be seen on the Forbo Flooring stand C20 at the Hospital, Health & Aged Care Exhibition, Hordern Pavilion, Fox Studios, Sydney 24th
and 25th August 2004.
