AAA Metal Suppliers' Geotextiles for environmental protection
AAA Metal Suppliers has introduced four new products into its range of specialist
geosynthetic products designed to protect the environment. They are High Strength Woven Geotextiles,
an economical 550g/m² Non-Woven Liner Underlay, a High Strength Composite Geotextile and a Geotextile
Clay Liner bonded to a Polyethylene Liner.
High Strength Woven Geotextiles ae superior to conventional geotextiles because they can reach full
tensile strength without undergoing the initial elongation associated with the straightening of woven
yarns. They vastly increase the tensile strengths of soils and thereby reducing the risk of sliding,
lateral spreading, ground stability and bearing capacity failures. Applications include:
- Road & rail embankments.
- Reinforced earth structures on poor foundations.
- Slope stabilization and soil retention on face wrapped walls and slip resistance in backfill soils.
- Piled foundations.
- Geotextile tubes for de-watering contaminated materials, shoreline and coastal protection.
Our non-woven Liner Underlay offers a very economical alternate to protecting LDPE and HDPE liners
from damage by rocks and tree roots. This 550g/m² needle-punched, non-woven, polyester fabric is
resistant to commonly encountered soil chemicals, mildew, insects and rodents. Our 550g/m² underlay
is available in rolls up to 6m wide x 100m long.
Our high strength woven/non-woven composite fabrics are ideal for the manufacture of filtration products
and siltation curtains. They are ideal for heavy duty separation marine and hydraulic works. These materials
are used as heavy duty separation layers at the base of rubble-mound breakwaters. They can also prefabricated
into tubes for use in marine applications.
Our new environmental 4500g/m² GCL-PE bonded liner saves time and money by overcoming the need to lay a
Geosynthetic Clay Liner and a Polyethylene liner separately.
