Proctor Frameshield by Dynamic Composite Technologies - wall applications

Wall breather membranes are an important part of the modern wall
construction. Proper installation and attention to detail can prevent water
migration into the building from the exterior and will facilitate the drying out of
interstitial condensation. Breathable membranes behind exterior claddings serve as
a secondary drainage layer allowing for wind blown rain from draining safely down
the exterior face of the breather membrane.
Proctor Frameshield is a spun bonded polypropylene material developed primarily as
a breather membrane for use in timber and steel frame wall construction. Frameshield
affords effective protection, during construction and for the life of the building,
against wind-driven rain, snow and dust. Frameshield is a highly durable, strong and
lightweight textile membrane that is silent when exposed to wind and will last the
lifetime of the building even in corrosive coastal environments.
Unlike foil products, the high water vapour permeability of Frameshield allows for
the controlled escape of vapour from within the building whilst restricting the
ingress of moisture.
Frameshield will help protect the building fabric and insulation from condensation and
related problems such as mould, timber rot, corrosion and loss of thermal resistance.
Frameshield is specified as a vapour permeable building wrap for behind exterior cladding,
brick veneer and sealed metal roofing applications in cold and temperate climates. Can
remain exposed up to 3 months without UV degradation.
