Profoil vapour control by A Proctor Group - Dynamic Composite Technologies

It has been long recognized that condensation within
buildings can lead to serious problems. But how can it be minimized?
The A Proctor Group is unique in that they supply two different
"families" of membranes to control water vapour within roof and wall
constructions, each serving a different purpose.
The Proctor Group range of Vapour Control Layers are the result of
prolonged research into the requirements for particular built environments.
They are installed on the warm side of the insulation to reduce the amount
of vapour laden warm air escaping into the roof or wall building envelope.
The A Proctor Group Frameshield, Wrapshield and Roofshield Breather Membranes
allow vapour within the construction to pass out of the building while offering
protection from driving Profoil from the A Proctor Group is a heavyweight
reinforced vapour control layer with aluminium foil core to give a extremely high
water vapour resistance. The woven extruded polypropylene multifilament scrim
reinforcement gives good resistance to tears and punctures.
The aluminum foil is protected on both faces by polyethylene for corrosive
situations, such as chlorine in swimming pools.
The Profoil Vapour Control layer must be:
- on the warm side of the insulation;
- continuous;
- treated with respect;
- sealed at all laps;
- sealed to and integrated with other elements such as wall heads, glazing heads,
glazing upstands and soil and vent pipes.
