INEX>FLOOR was initially developed as a substrate for surfaces such as tiles, vinyl, carpet or timber, however, it can also be used as a finished surface all on its own. For example, how it was used as a polished finished flooring for the ILVE Appliances Showroom back in 2014. Leo Felton of Constellation Carpentry, the building company in-charge of the project, said that "It's astonishing that this material can be used as both a substrate for bathrooms and decks and as a quality finished surface like at ILVE... It was so easy to work with; I even used a hand saw to trim it around the columns". Laid smooth side up as a direct finish to the existing concrete, the INEX>FLOOR provided a harmonious solution with its polished concrete look finish. After installation, a light sanding followed by UBIQ's suggested 3 coat water based epoxy sealing and polyurethane coating system, the successful eye-catching design was well received by clients and guests of the Appliance showroom. INEX>FLOOR provided a stylish accent to the showroom It can be cut and worked comparable to fibre cement sheets and has improved bending capabilities. The success of INEX>FLOOR at ILVE has introduced UBIQ as a provider of low carbon, but highly efficient boards made with Engineered Cementitious Composite (ECC) technology that contains 60% of post-industrial recycled materials. |
