DOW Styrofoam Deckmate 300 Thermal Spacers by Dynamic
Composite Technologies


DOW Styrofoam™ Deckmate 300 Thermal Spacers are designed specifically to reduce the thermal loss on metal deck roof applications. The BCA (Building Code of Australia) has in place Energy Efficiency Provisions for Commercial Buildings specifying minimum deemed-to-satisfy levels of insulation. In force since May 2006, these provisions aim to reduce the energy waste in buildings thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions and securing a healthy future for Australia. With these levels being the minimum standard, some progressive Builders and Building Designers are already specifying well in excess of these requirements.

Depending on construction method, in some metal deck roof construction the insulation blanket can be compressed which can reduce the thermal performance of the roof system. The use of DOW Styrofoam™ Deckmate 300 Thermal Spacers on top of each purlin above the insulation blanket will ensure that sufficient room is allowed for insulation blanket to recover to its nominal thickness and that stated R values are achieved.

DOW Styrofoam™ Deckmate 300 Thermal Spacers are made from high compressive strength 300 kPa Styrofoam™ brand insulation.

The strips are a closed cell structure meaning that they won't absorb moisture thus retaining their thermal performance. Testing has been conducted by the majority of the manufacturers of Roofing Systems in Australia and the addition of DOW Styrofoam™ Deckmate 300 will not affect the warranties of these manufacturers.

DOW Styrofoam™ Deckmate 300 Thermal Spacers are specifically designed with a high compressive strength and not to absorb moisture which tests have shown to be vital for this application.
