James Squire Brewhouses install Altro's safest flooring and Altro's hygienic wall cladding

With dripping beer and lots of busy staff, slippery floors become a major concern for the James Squire brewhouses, a nd keeping a hazard free environment is a must.

The James Squire story dates back to 1794, and now over 200 years later, beer continues to be made under his name. Malt Shovel Brewery, an offshoot of brewery giant Lion Nathan, develops and installs microbrewery pub packages under the James Squire brand, and Altro has been involved with all of them.

For duty of care reasons, the brewhouses need to provide a safe and slip free environment for all staff and customers. During the development of the first site, The Portland Hotel in Melbourne, Malt Shovel looked for a floor that would provide them with slip resistance, hygiene and cleanability.

The performance of the Altro Safety flooring on the brewhouse and bar floor at the Portland was so good that the team at Malt Shovel continued to use Altro's products as they developed other James Squire microbrewery sites across Australia, and at the Kosciuszko Brewery at the Banjo Paterson Inn in Jindabyne.

Another product regularly used is Altro Whiterock, a hygienic wall cladding that is fully bonded, totally sealed and impact resistant. No better proof of this is the installation at the Kosciuszko Brewery where it was used in both the brewhouse and the cellar. Perfect for breweries, it provides them with an easy to clean wipe down surface. Just like Altro K30 safety flooring Altro Whiterock also contains Altrosan, an integral biocide that enhances hygiene.

Both Altro safety flooring and wall cladding are fully endorsed by HACCP Australia as surface coverings suitable for use in food and drink processing environments.
