Recycled Packaging Study from GECA

GECA will have a University of Sydney student working with us during the second half of 2013 to conduct research on end of life for materials collected in recycling systems in Australia.

Anne Kehlhofer is in the final stage of her Masters in Sustainability and we are fortunate that she has chosen to do her research project with GECA.

Most GECA standards contain criteria on packaging. This is because the environmental impact of packaging can be a significant part of the overall impact of the product.

Anne will focus on two questions. What happens to those containers you put in your recycling? What recycled material is available for manufacturers to pack their products in?
