Solar Energy Loans and Rebates from Solaray

All of our Residential Solar Systems here at Solaray qualify for a Solar Power Green Loan!

How it works

Once you become a Solaray customer, simply sign and return your order form and notify your Solaray representative that you would like to apply for a Green Loan.

We will then book you in for an installation date and conduct a site visit to confirm the installation details.

We then organise the Community First Credit Union to contact you and arrange your application for the Green Loan.

Once your application is approved we will submit your grid connect application and finalise the paperwork for your installation. (If your application is not approved you may cancel your order- no questions asked).

We install the system, connect your solar system to the grid and replace your meter. Watch as you start saving money by generating your own solar power.

Benefits and Features

  • Low interest rate that is currently 6.12% (comparison rate 6.33%*)
  • $150 application fee and then no ongoing fees
  • Additional payments are allowed
  • Redraw on your loan with no minimum amount
  • Loan terms for 1-5 years
  • Loan amounts from only $1000 so that you can simply borrow what you need.
  • You can borrow up to 100% of the system price. You must still pay the Solaray deposit, and this will be refunded when your loan is approved.

Case Study - A 2kW Example

Peter and Sue installed a 2kW (8 x 250W panels) Solaray system using a green loan for $3,070 including a $500 deposit.

They used 100% of the solar power generated as they ran the air conditioner and pool pump during the day when the solar system was providing power. They pay 29c per kW/h.

Peter and Sue are delighted to be saving $766 a year from their power bill.

The Green loan repayments on a 2kW Solar System were $31 a week over 2 years, however they could have paid just $14 a week over 5 years. The reason they chose 2 years was to minimise their total interest payments, which will be only $194 over the 2 years.

Taking their savings into account, the solar system is only costing John and Bev $16.27 a week, and then after just 2 years they are getting free solar power to help reduce their power bills. John is surprised at how well the numbers stack up, and how easy it was to go solar.

Peter was comfortable with a green loan because they could easily afford the $31 a week and the total interest payable over 2 years was only about $194.

Sue was happy that there are no hidden fees or charges, and that all of these figures were made clear by their Solaray representative.

Solar Rebates in NSW

Rebates are available to qualifying residential and commercial premises in Australia that install Solar Panels and other Renewable Energy Systems.

These rebates can mean significant reductions in the cost of Solar Systems -and have been designed to encourage Australia's use of renewable energy.

The rebate program - which is part of Australia's Renewable Energy Target - means that when you install a Solar System, a number of Renewable Energy Certificates are created.

These Certificates (referred to as STC's - or Small scale Technology Certificates) are then purchased by Energy Companies as part of their Renewable Energy commitments.

The value of these Certificates can vary and can either be deducted from the price of your system or sold (usually at a higher price) via the Clean Energy Regulator's certificate Clearing House system.

There are also several additional incentives and grants available for commercial systems. One of our commercial consultants would be happy to discuss these with you.
