Drive-Thru Acoustic Barrier from Modular Wall Systems

A new KFC store in Sydney's West with operating hours extending from 10:00am through to 11:00pm during the week required a perimeter acoustic barrier wall shielding the drive-thru and car-park activity from neighbouring residents.

Not only did solution need to meet the acoustic requirement but ensure minimal sun loss for one particular residential neighbour whose property immediately adjoined the drive-thru. Due to the site conditions, there were varying heights and customised engineering elements that had to be integrated into the final solution.

The solution offered by Modular Wall Systems™ was a combination of our Vogue and Guardian walls with the GuardianWall™ containing a combination of our AcoustiMax™ panel topped with an acrylic screen to prevent excessive shading to the rear neighbours backyard. By utilising the sound reflecting and high impact resistant AcoustiMax™ 75 panels a noise reduction of almost 30dBa was achieved.

The finished wall presented like an inherent extension of the KFC drive-thru helped by the fact that it was able to be painted in the same colour as drive-thru structure itself.
