The art of solid plastering goes by various names depending on which state you live in. Commonly known as rendering, it is the external application of cement to exterior concrete or brick walls through the use of hand tools or with the help of an automatic rendering machine. Historical evidence shows that ancient solid plastering was done by coating mud over a framework of sticks and stems to enclose a protective structure and keep out elements of nature.
