Davco Econofix fast setting flexible white wall adhesive

Davco Econofix is a high performance adhesive, one of the key products in the Davco range, has greater adhesion, increased flexibility and non-slump properties.

Rob Luc, Davco's NSW sales manager, says recent formulation improvements mean Econofix now has greater adhesion, improved flexibility and can be mixed to a non-slump consistency.

"Every product in the Davco range is under continuous review by our research and development team to investigate ways of improving formulations to achieve best practice results.

"Extensive research has resulted in an Econofix formulation which gives just as fast curing at 5 degrees centigrade as it does at 25.

"Easier mixing is a by-product of our extensive research into Econofix and this has to be a great benefit to users of this flexible adhesive" Rob Luc added.

"When mixed to a slightly thicker consistency, Econofix takes on the properties of a mastic adhesive, allowing tilers to hang normal wall tiles without slump."

Econofix is pure white allowing it to be used with white marble and translucent tiles without the risk of the adhesive colour showing through.

Because it is polymer modified, Econofix is highly flexible allowing it to be used over flexible building boards without the use of an additive. Importantly the adhesive can be applied over most waterproofing membranes.

A premium grade, fast setting cement based adhesive, Econofix has been specially formulated to bond tiles to a variety of substrates for any interior application.

"Tilers can reduce their cost per square metre, thanks to the great coverage they can achieve with Davco Econofix. A 20kg bag will cover approximately 12m² (using a 6mm x 6mm notched trowel).

Econofix can be used on both walls and floors in interior applications to fix tiles to concrete, cement render, blockwork, brickwork, plasterboard, fibre cement sheeting and most waterproofing membranes.

"It is easy to use. All you have to do is add water. It sets fast, curing in about 6 - 8 hours. You can even grout the tiles the same day. That enables a quick turn around on jobs" Rob Luc added.
