Big choice, better joist - new Hyjoist® - from CHH Futurebuild floor design
DesignIT v3 building design software enables quick and easy selection of joist sizes without the need for engineering knowledge.
Developed as a lightweight and reliable replacement for solid timber floor joists, Hybeam® has been a market leader in I-joists for years. Futurebuild® has
built on this proven track record and the capabilities of Hybeam® to produce the new Hyjoist® Options Range. This expanded and more economical range supersedes Hybeam® as
the joist of choice, offering proven performance with a wider range of options for more flexible design.
Hyjoist® involved a complete re-engineering of the Hybeam® range in order to provide more options in floor design. The new Hyjoist® range features ten section sizes,
with three sections available for the key floor depths of 240 mm and 300 mm where a larger span range is sought. The range also introduces economy joists in depths of
240 mm, 300 mm and 360 mm and now boasts a 400-mm-deep section.
The floor designer can now select from the economy sections in a depth that will accommodate the spans of the main area of the floor. Any larger spans are easily achieved
using the wider flange options of the same depth to complete an economical floor joist layout.
Hyjoist® is supported by a design guide and new DesignIT v3 building design software that makes the selection of joist sizes quick and easy without the need for
engineering knowledge.
