Kee Klamp Provides Top Class Access At Paxton Primary School
In a recent project designed to improve safety, Reading-based Kee Klamp Ltd has provided fittings from its best selling Kee Klamp® range for the construction of major new pedestrian safety guardrailing at Paxton Primary School in South East London.
The project has involved a series of permanent physical improvements, including the installation of two new ramp walkways from the street up to the school entrance. Alongside the walkways run 90 linear metres of safety guardrailing, connected together by Kee Klamp® fittings, which replace an existing stairway, to bring enhanced school access for pupils, parents and visitors. The new guardrailing structure features vertical black in-fill bars for extra safety and incorporates high visibility, yellow offset handrailing at child / wheel chair user height. This ensures optimum safety and guidance for all, especially for the young, the visually impaired and those with physical disabilities.
Slope fittings from the Kee Klamp® range were chosen, as they are purpose-designed for simple and effective gradient installations, providing a strong, safe "connecting" solution. These innovative fittings enable easy pivoting of guard-rail tubes in the fitting barrel to achieve the desired gradient angle, making positioning during installation quick and easy. Like the Kee Klamp® fittings used to construct the main guardrailing structure at the school, these Slope fittings incorporate integral socket grub screws which then lock the fitting securely onto its tube, eliminating the need for welding or specialist installation skills. The project was completed by contractors, Smith Construction.
