MAASS Products pivot safety gate
Melbourne based company MAASS Products is pleased to announce
the latest in Mezzanine Safety Gates. Many mezzanine floors are used to store
large or palletised product. They are often loaded by the use of forklifts and
unloaded by pedestrians. The Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act 2004
requires that employers have a responsibility to take measures to prevent falls
from heights. To meet WorkSafe standards guardrails need to be put into place and
designed so they allow access to the stock by forklifts and pedestrians, but at the
same time remove any risk of a pedestrian falling from the mezzanine.
Our mezzanine safety pivot gate meets all necessary standards. Once installed and
bolted to the mezzanine floor it locks into place when open to enable the forklift
to load any stock onto the mezzanine, at the same time it is stopping any pedestrian
access to the stock and removing the risk of falling.
Included in its design:
- 100mm kick panel to the sides of the gate eliminating debris entering the workstation and over the edge.
- 120mm kick safety panel, taped to see the gate whilst down or up.
- Optional 400mm stainless steel mesh on gate, eliminates roll through of loose pallet items.
- Correct centre of gravity in pivot design making the gate light to control and handle with less than 8 kilos in manual pivot pressure.
- The gate locks into position with a spring loaded stainless steel pin easily identified by a universal 'Stop' button.
- Nylon guide at pivot points eliminates ware and metal friction.
- Designed for easy installation.
