Under Tile Heating Brisbane from Heatec

undertile heating

Sand-cement bedded floors

This is a common method for warming floors in wet areas, since these usually have a layer of sand/cement mix spread over the wet-sealed floor, which varies in thickness (eg. 30 - 50-mm) to provide fall to the floor waste for drainage.

Thin bed mat systems

Heatec can utilise a thin cable pre-attached to a very open mat background, allowing the adhesive to be spread through and over the mat.

As with the normal bedded floors, the location of any fixtures not already present are identified. The mat is supplied on 500mm wide rolls in a range of factory-made lengths. Installers can cut and turn the matting, and remove some cable from the backing as necessary, to work around odd shapes.

Although some tilers are quite happy to lay directly over this, we recommend a thin bedding to protect the cable and provide a better working surface.
