Mini Crawler Cranes Used in New Developments from Preston

Preston Mini Crawler Cranes help construction of the NAB and CBUS building in Docklands

Preston Group was recently engaged for the hire of three Maeda MC-285 mini crawler cranes to assist the development of a new workplace for National Australia Bank ('NAB') and CBUS at 700 Bourke Street in Melbourne.

Located at the gateway to Docklands and adjacent to Etihad Stadium, the new development will feature 61,000sqm of workspace over 15 levels, a childcare centre, a selection of retail and large open public spaces.

The Maeda MC-285 mini crawler crane was selected because of its compactness and attractive lifting capabilities. The small size and minimal weight of the mini crawler crane meant that it was able to access the narrow interior of the building via an Alimak hoist and lift curtain panels and materials to varying slabs with ease and efficiency.
