The Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH) was founded in 1840 and has been South Australia's primary healthcare facility ever since. A 650-bed acute care facility, RAH has built an international reputation as one of Australia's finest public hospitals.

Like all hospitals, Royal Adelaide Hospital constantly deals with maintenance issues of their interior surfaces. Although a complete re-development for the hospital has been announced by the South Australian Government, there was still a need for some refurbishment to the old building.
